It looks like the album that Carlos Santana discussed reuniting the
original Santana members may be on the back burner as he moves forward
with his new multi-star set, Corazón.
The album, which will be
out in early 2014 on RCA/Sony, includes guest performances from artists
of the Latin world including Chocquibtown (Colombia), Lila Downs
(Mexico), Gloria Estefan (Cuba), Los Fabulosos Cadillacs (Argentina),
Juanes (Colombia), Miguel (USA), Niña Pastori (Spain), Samuel Rosa of
Skank (Brazil), Soledad (Argentina), Diego Torres (Argentina), Ziggy
Marley (Jamaica) and Romeo Santos (Dominican Republic).
To
promote the new album, Santana will appear in Guadalajara, Mexico on
December 14 at the Arena AFG for Corazón, Live in Mexico: Live It to
Believe It. All of the guest stars on the album will be on hand to
perform except for Marley and Santos.
In addition, HBO Latino
and HBO Latin America will be filming the concert which will air on the
stations in the spring and will be later released on DVD. A documentary
is being shot at the same time on the making of the event.
Corazón
is currently still being recorded in Las Vegas under the guidance of
producer Lester Mendez. More details, including a track listing and
release date, will be announced at a future date.
