Two of the most successful composers from two different genres of music,
 Paul Simon and Stephen Sondheim, will share the stage for a roundtable 
discussion on December 3 at New York's New Museum of Contemporary Art.
The
 Chairman's Evening is an event organized by the MacDowell Colony, an 
organization that nurtures 'the arts by offering creative individuals of
 the highest talent an inspiring environment in which they can produce 
enduring works of the imagination.' The colony, located in Peterborough,
 NH, is headed by author Michael Chabon who wrote Wonder Boys, The 
Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the Pulitzer Price winning The Amazing 
Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. 
Chabon will join Simon and 
Sondheim on stage for a conversation about 'the mysteries of creativity 
and the inspirations for their own brilliant careers.' 
The event
 is a closed affair for patrons of the colony to allow them to get 
'exclusive access to the kind of high-octane conversations that inspire 
artists at MacDowell every day.'
Sondheim previously received the Edward McDowell Medal for lifetime achievement from the group.
